- The Post was mustered in on 12 April 1987 with 30 members. The installation of new Post Officers was by Surgeon Robert Joyce, Department of Pacific Areas and Chaplain Joe Richardson, Department of Pacific Areas. Appendix (a) contains a list of charter members.
- The initial Post meeting was held at American Legion Post 123 and after that at various locations in and around Angeles City and Clark Air Base.
- On 14 April, members of the Post attended a Memorial Service at the Anderson Death Camp Mass Grave located at the Navy Relay Facility, Capas, Tarlac. This was the first official function attended by the Post.
- In May, the Post operated a booth at the Clark Air Base “Happening on the Green”. The booth sold hot dogs, soft drinks and distributed VFW material and member applications.
- On 9 December, the Clark Air Base Commander approved the Post Constitution and Bylaws thereby allowing the Post to hold meetings on Clark Air Base.

- The Post received a Commendation from the National VFW for Americanism, Buddy Poppy, Safety, Youth and Community Programs.
- The Post received the Department Voice of Democracy Award.
- On 18 September, the Bataan Memorial Chapter, Air Force Association (AFA), Clark Air Base presented the Post a laminated lithograph, “Bataan : Philippine-American Sacrifices Together”. This plaque was presented at the Air Force Anniversary Ball, 17 September, 1988.
- In May a residence to contain a Post Home was rented at 381 Santol Road, Clarkview Subdivision, Angeles City. The Post Canteen consisted of a small bar and juke box. Hot dogs were served later.
- In May, the Post operated a booth at the Clark Air Base “Happening on the Green”. The booth sold hot dogs, soft drinks and distributed VFW material and member applications.

- The Post received a Department Certificate of Commendation “ for special recognition for participation in Americanism, Buddy Poppy, Safety, Youth and Community Activities Programs.”
- A Children’s Operation Fund was placed under the control of the Post. This Fund provides operations for children of the poor and needy in and around the Angeles City area. The Fund was originally started by Comrades Robert Zaher and Clifton Wilsey in 1985 and by 1989 had evolved into a group called the “Good Samaritans”. Money for this fund is generated through raffles, bake sales, car washes and donations. Ten operations were performed this year.
- In November a lighted VFW sign on a supporting pole was installed at the front entrance of the Post Home.
- Junior Vice Commander Eugene Herrmann attended the Veterans Day Ceremony at the Camp O’Donnell Monument.
- Comrade Edward Lyons was presented the National VFW Quartermaster of the Year Award.
- In May, the Post honored its first Voice of Democracy winner, William Ward, age 15.
- In May, the Post operated a booth at the Clark Air Base “Happening on the Green”. The booth sold hot dogs, soft drinks and distributed VFW material and member applications.
- In May, Commander Tom Elliott, Department of the Pacific Areas dedicated the Post Colors.
- The Post conducted Buddy Poppy sales at the Clark Air Base Exchange on Memorial and Veterans Day.
- The Post supported Mt Arayat Shrine Oasis and their Shrine Crippled Children Program.

Membership at the end of the 1990 calendar year: 73, including 23 Life Members .

- The Post received a plaque from the Clark Air Base Chief’s Group for “Outstanding Support to the Military Community”.
- The Post received a Commendation from the National Fleet Reserve Association Americanism- Patriotism Committee. The commendation was sponsored by FRA Branch 367, San Antonio, Republic of the Philippines.
- The Post received a Letter of Appreciation from Department Commander Luther W. Harmon for support given him during the June Convention.
- In May, the Post operated a booth at the Clark Air Base “Happening on the Green”. The booth sold hot dogs, soft drinks and distributed VFW material and member applications.
- The Post designated as National VFW All American Post and Commander Eugene Herrmann designated at All American Post Commander. This was the initial All American status for the Post.
- The Post achieved status as a National Streamer Post.
- Commander Eugene Herrmann presented a red/white/blue VFW hat as recognition for being designated as an All American Post Commander.
- In June, Mount Pinatubo erupted. The Post Home suffered severe damage from lahar and water, the Post Canteen was closed temporarily. Commander Eugene Herrmann deeming the building unsafe and beyond repair, distributed all stock and furniture, and closed the Post.
- On 19 June, incoming Commander Robert Zaher provided a working party to clean the lahar from the roof and entranceway of the Post Home. Some of the membership did not think the building could be saved.
- Fifteen operations were performed by the Children’s Operation Fund.

- Department Commander Luther Harmon presented the Post a Letter of Appreciation “for support to the during his visit to the Philippines.”
- After temporary minor repairs from, water and lahar damage, the Post Canteen was reopened approx 1 July, serving cold beer and hot dogs.
- On 3 July, Commander Robert Zaher hosted a Post Social to decide the future of the Post Home. At this meeting Senior Vice Commander Dan Anderson (CMSGT in CE) performed a complete inspection of the Post Home and declared it safe and repairable. A vote to continue the Post was approved. Commander Zaher, through his Athletic Director role on Clark, had a maintenance crew dispatched to repair the lahar damage. These repairs included new door and lock, window screens, ceiling and entranceway.
- In July, the Post participated in the First Annual Chili Cook-Off in La Union, winning the First Runner-Up Award. This event is sponsored by Post 9892.
- The Post designated as National VFW All American Post.
- The Post achieved status as a National Streamer Post.
- Commander Robert Zaher presented a red/white/blue VFW hat as recognition of Post being designated All American.
- The Post received a Commendation from La Societe des 40 Hommes et 8 Chevaux “for programs and activities dedicated to God and Country”.
- The Post received National VFW Membership Award for exceeding 100% membership.
- On 18 September, the Clark Chief’s Group presented the Post will a plaque “for outstanding support to the military community.”
- Past Commander Joseph Carsley elected Commander, District One.
- Past Commander Eugene Herrmann attended the Veterans Day Ceremony at the Camp O’Donnell Monument.
- In meeting with the Clark Air Base Wing Commander, Commander Robert Zaher assured him that the American Flag at the Clark Cemetery would be maintained as long as the Post was here.
- On 11 November, the Post hosted Veterans Day Observation at the Clark Cemetery, which was followed by a picnic at the Post Home.
- Commander Zaher obtained all burial records available of the Clark Cemetery and all burial flags.
- Clark Air Base closed on 24 November 1991.
- A U.S. flag flown over Clark Air Base, on the last day it was an American Base, was presented to the Post by Commander Robert Zaher.
- In December, the Post hosted a Christmas Party for children at the Pearl Buck Foundation Home in Angeles City. This was the first time the Post had hosted the Christmas Party, while the base was open the party was hosted by the Clark Chief’s Group.
- The Post designated as National VFW All American Post and Commander Robert Zaher designated at All American Post Commander.
- The Post coordinated the first Memorial Day Ceremony at the Clark Cemetery, after the closing of Clark Air Base. The ceremony was followed by a picnic at the Post Home.
- In June, Post members attended the Second Annual Chili Cook-Off and Miss Chili Pepper Contest at La Union. This event is sponsored by Post 9892.
- Sixteen operations were performed by the Children’s Operation Fund.

- Commander Robert Zaher presented a red/white/blue VFW hat as recognition for being designated as an All American Post Commander.
- Commander Robert Zaher and Comrade Clifford Wilsey designated as National Recruiting Aide-De-Camps (recruiting over 50 members).
- The Post received a Letter of Appreciation for support given to the visit of Commander Robert W. Joyce, Department of Pacific Areas.
- On 11 November, the Post hosted the Veterans Day Observation at the Clark Cemetery, which was followed by a picnic at the Post Home.
- In December, the Post hosted a Christmas Party for children at the Pearl Buck Foundation Home in Angeles City.
- The Post achieved status as a Banner Year Post.
- Commander Zaher named as Outstanding Department of Pacific Areas Post Commander. He also received a hat for being named an All State Commander.
- The Post achieved status as a National Streamer Post.
- Comrade Paul Morgenthal elected as Junior Vice Commander, District VII.
- On 25 April, the Post supported the Returned & Services League (RSL) in their ANZAC Day Observance at the Clark Cemetery.
- The Post designated as National VFW All American Post and Commander Robert Zaher designated at All American Post Commander. This was the second consecutive year that the Post and Commander Zaher have attained All American status.
- The Post coordinated the Memorial Day Ceremony at the Clark Cemetery, which was followed by a picnic at the Post Home.
- In June, the Post hosted the 27th Anniversary Department of Pacific Areas Convention and the 24th Grand Scratch, MOC. This was the first Department of the Pacific Areas Convention to be held in the Philippines.
- Until June the Post had been in VFW District One. District VII was created in the Philippines, consisting of Post 2585, Post 11447 and Post 9892.
- Fifteen operations were performed by the Children’s Operation Fund.

- Senior Vice Commander Ralph Milward, Department of Pacific Areas transferred his membership to Post 2485.
- The District VII Commander presented the Post a Certificate of Appreciation “for outstanding support during the Department Convention.”
- The Post received a plaque from VFW Post 10216 for support, hospitality and dedicated effort during the June 1993 Department Convention.
- The Post received a plaque for the Department Commander “for support during the Department Convention.”
- Post received VFW National Award for Community Projects.
- Past Commander Eugene Herrmann, Comrades Steve Piechocky, Paul Jackson, Pete Peterson and Bob House attended Veterans Day Observation and Luncheon at the Corregidor Memorial. President and Mrs Clinton, Secretary of State Warren Christopher and U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines Negroponte were in attendance. Republic of the Philippines Fidel V. Ramos also attended.
- In December, the Post hosted a Christmas Party for children at the Pearl Buck Foundation Home in Angeles City.
- In December, the Post also held a Christmas Party for the children of the Gallion Evacuation Center.
- The Post received a flag flown over the USS Arizona Memorial. The flag was flown on 7 December 1993 and presented by Comrades living in the Japan area.
- The Post achieved status as a Banner Year Post.
- In February, the VFW Business Center was opened by the Checkmark Trading Service.
- Secondary eruption of Mt Pinatubo. Two-three inches of lahar dumped on the Post Home and grounds, partially undoing the major effort that had been expended removing previous fallout.
- Comrade Paul Morgenthal elected to position of Senior Vice Commander, District VII.
- On 25 April, the Post supported the Returned & Services League (RSL) in their ANZAC Day Observance at the Clark Cemetery.
- In May, Post members attended the 3rd Annual Chili Cook-Off and Miss Chili Pepper Contest at La Union. This event is sponsored by Post 9892.
- In May the Post provided support to American Legion Post 123 in the observation of Memorial Day at the Clark Cemetery
- In June, after deciding the Clark Cemetery was a disgrace to all Veterans buried there, the Post organized a general clean up for the entire Cemetery. Up until this time only the general area around the entrance was maintained. Initially there were eight U.S. Veterans and three local hires involved in the clean-up. Eventually there were as many as 30 volunteers, from area Veterans organizations, involved in the clean-up.
- The Post received a framed litho print entitled “American Defenders of Bataan and Corregidor, 1941-1942". The print was a gift from Department of Pacific Areas Commander R.W. Joyce in 1993.
- In June, the Post hosted the 28th Anniversary Department of Pacific Areas Convention and the 25th Grand Scratch, MOC.
- Comrade Ralph Milward elected to the position of Commander, Department Pacific Areas,
- Comrade Jesse Foster designated Department of Pacific Areas Service Officer of the Year
- Fourteen operations were performed by the Children’s Operation Fund.

Membership at the end of the 1994 calendar year: 439, including 308 Life Members
- In August, Comrade Jerry Prinz was presented a Certificate of Appreciation for his three years as the Post Canteen Manager.
- In September, the Post awarded Life Memberships to Comrades Kenneth Olsen, Geoffry Spicer, Thomas King and Robert Webster.
- The contract for the kitchen expired in October and the Post decided it would began operations under VFW management.
- In October, the Post removed lahar and cleaned the street on which Post is located.
- In November, Post 11447 organized a clean-up crew from Veterans organizations in Barrio Barretto to assist in clean-up at the cemetery.
- On 11 November, the Post coordinated the Veterans Day Observation at the Clark Cemetery, which was followed by a picnic at the Post Home.
- In November, the Post signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) enabling the Post to act as caretaker of the Clark Cemetery. This MOA also permits the resumption of burials for qualified U.S. Veterans, including Philippine Scouts.
- In December, the Post hosted a Christmas Party for children at the Pearl Buck Foundation Home in Angeles City.
- In February, the Post awarded a Life Membership to Comrade J.L. Stucky.
- In March, a storage building was constructed and a well dug at the cemetery.
- In March, Life Memberships were awarded to Comrades Ronald L. Cluff and Robert Kucharyski.
- In April, a Life Membership was awarded to Comrade Thomas L. Covert.
- On 25 April, the Post supported the Returned & Services League (RSL) in their ANZAC Day Observance at the Clark Cemetery.
- Comrade Paul Morgenthal elected Commander, District VII.
- A patio in back and Post Canteen kitchen extension were constructed.
- The Post designated as National VFW All American Post and Commander Edward Lyons designated at All American Post Commander.
- Military Order of the Cooties, Pinatubo Pup Tent 15 was chartered 29 May 1995. There were 21 charter members. Appendix (b) contains a list of Pup Tent 15 Charter Members.
- Comrade Paul Morgenthal elected to position of Commander, District VII
- In May, the Post provided support to American Legion Post 123 in the observation of Memorial Day at the Clark Cemetery.
- Commander Lyons presented red/white/blue hat as recognition of the Post being designated All American.
- In June, the Post hosted the 29th Anniversary Department of Pacific Areas Convention and the 26th Grand Scratch, MOC
- Comrade Joseph Carsley elected to position of Commander, Department of Pacific Areas,
- Comrade Robert Zaher elected to position of Junior Vice Commander, Department of Pacific Areas, then assumed position of Senior Vice Commander after a resignation.
- Fourteen operations were performed by the Children’s Operation Fund.
- The Post continued to provide grounds maintenance and burial assistance at the Clark Cemetery.

- The Post designated as National VFW All American Post.
- In August, Department Commander Joseph Carsley, Department Senior Vice Commander Robert Zaher and Past Department Commander Ralph Milward were Post delegates to the National VFW Convention in Phoenix.
- Comrade Clifford Wilsey designated as National Recruiting Aide-De-Camp (recruiting over 50 members).
- In October, a Life Memberships were awarded to Comrades Steven Peavey and Martin Kerekes.
- In October the Post participated in the 4th Annual Chili Cook-Off in La Union, winning the Second Runner-Up Award. This event is sponsored by Post 9892.
- APO mail service was established for retirees in the Philippines in October. The Post was designed a mail drop off/pick up point
- On 11 November, the Post coordinated the Veterans Day Observation at the Clark Cemetery, which was followed by a picnic at the Post Home.
- In December, the Post hosted a Christmas Party for children at the Pearl Buck Foundation Home in Angeles City.
- In December, the National VFW awarded the Post a Certificate and Victory Streamer for exceeding 100% in membership.
- National VFW Commander Paul Spera visited the Post on 12 December after attending the Department of Pacific Areas Council of Administration at Post 11447 in Barrio Barretto. He was given a tour of the Clark Cemetery and the Post hosted a Cocktail Party in his honor.
- Five veterans were buried at the Clark Cemetery during the 1995 calendar year.
- On 19 February, U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines John Negroponte, after a wreath laying and tour of the Clark Cemetery attended a buffet luncheon at the Post Home.
- Ambassador Negroponte presented a U.S. Embassy plaque to Comrade Ned Tighe for his “Professionalism, Performance and contributions in the upkeep and care of the Clark Cemetery.”
- In March, the Post purchased uniforms for a Youth Basketball Team.
- In March, the Post was presented a CPR machine by Post Comrades residing in Hawaii. This enabled the Post Surgeon to conduct CPR training for our members, staff and the local community.
- In April, the Post awarded Life Memberships to Comrades Russell Large and Daniel Yenshaw.
- On 25 April, the Post supported the Returned & Services League (RSL) in their ANZAC Day Observance at the Clark Cemetery.
- The Post conducted VFW grave side burial ceremonies for Jimmy D. Keith, TSGT, USAF (Ret), Robert L. Bell, SP4, USA (Ret) and Robert N. Williams, SFC, USA (Ret) on 27 April.
- The Post conducted VFW grave side burial ceremony for Richard P. Ramez, AMS1, USN (Ret).
- The Post designated as National VFW All American Post and Commander Kenneth Schaefer designated at All American Post Commander.
- In May the Post provided support to American Legion Post 123 in the annual observation of Memorial Day at the Clark Cemetery.
- The Post conducted VFW grave side burial ceremony for Roy E. Tanner, MSGT, USAF (Ret) on 2 May.
- Commander Kenneth Schaefer presented a red/white/blue hat as recognition of Post being designated All American.
- In June, Past District VII Commander and Post Quartermaster Paul Morgenthal was awarded a flashlight for being the National VFW Top Post Quartermaster.
- June 15-21, the Post hosted the 30th Anniversary Department of Pacific Areas Convention and the 27th Grand Scratch, MOC
- Comrade Robert Zaher elected to position of Commander, Department of Pacific Areas.
- The Post received Phase II Department Award for participation and support of National Programs.
- Comrade Rick Nelson was awarded the Department of Pacific Areas, Outstanding Member of the Year Award.
- Fifteen operations were performed by the Children’s Operation Fund.
- The Post continued to provide grounds maintenance and burial assistance at the Clark Cemetery.

- On 3 July, Commander Kenneth Schaefer attended the Philippine-American Friendship Day Ceremony at Malacanang Palace, home of the President of the Philippines. President Fidel V. Ramos was in attendance.
- On the 4th of July, the Post co-hosted with CDC, a Philippine-American Friendship Day at the Clark Cemetery. In attendance were various U.S. Veterans groups from Angeles City, members of the Veterans Federation of the Philippines, officials of the local community and members of the Clark Development Corporation.
- Commander Kenneth Schaefer, Junior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard and Comrade Jerry Prinz attended the 4th Annual Barrio Beach Bash at Barrio Barretto. This event was sponsored by VFW Post 11447.
- Five dependents of Post members were awarded Dr John Randall Scholarships.
- In August the National American Legion presented the Post with a grant of $3000 for maintenance of the Clark Cemetery. This will be a yearly grant through the year 1999.
- Post Officers conducted a VFW grave side ceremony for Thomas J. King, HM1, USN (Ret) on 5 August.
- In August, the Post adopted the use of the pale blue barong as the official Post uniform.
- After the August General Membership Meeting, blood pressure screening was made available to all attendees.
- Department Commander Robert Zaher, Past Department Commander Joseph Carsley, Post Commander Kenneth Schaefer and Comrade Clifford Wilsey, Post Membership Chairman represented the Post at the National VFW Convention in Louisville, KY.
- Past Post Commander Joseph Carsley presented a POW-MIA Plaque to the Post
- In September, the Post held a Mini-MEDCAP for the Malabanias Elementary School and the Clarkview Community. Approx 550 persons attended. The Post was assisted in this effort by local area Doctors and the Angeles University Medical Center.
- On 20 September the Post observed POW Recognition Day.
- Post cemetery personnel provided assistance to American Legion Post 123 in the burial of Edward W. Schaedel, LCPL, USMC 6 October. The grave side ceremony was conducted by American Legion Post 123.
- Post cemetery personnel provided assistance to DAV in the burial of Carl O'Connor, TSGT, USAF on 25 October. The grave side ceremony was conducted by the DAV.
- In October, the Post participated in the 5th Annual Chili Cook-Off in La Union, winning the Second Runner-Up Award. This event is sponsored by Post 9892.
- The Clark Development Corporation (CDC) requested Commander Kenneth Schaefer serve on the committee formed to re-establish the Clark Museum.
- In October, Commander Schaefer and Post members attended the installation ceremony for Post 124 in Baguio. Department of Pacific Areas Commander Robert Zaher performed the installation ceremony.
- Ronald, Robert and Mark Kucharyski presented the Post a helmet used in Desert Storm and three poster depicting Desert Storm action. These posters were framed and now hang in the Post Office along with the helmet.
- On 10 November, the Post hosted the District VII Convention.
- Commander Kenneth Schaefer elected to position of District VII Junior Vice Commander.
- On 11 November, the Post coordinated the Veterans Day Observation at the Clark Cemetery, which was followed by a picnic at the Post Home. The ceremony at the cemetery was supported by various U.S. Veterans groups from Angeles City, Barrio Barretto, La Union, Baguio and the Returned & Services League (RSL).
- Post cemetery personnel provided assistance to American Legion Post 123 in the burial of Leroy Coleman, Airman, USAF (Ret) on 30 November. The grave side ceremony was conducted by American Legion Post 123.
- The Post achieved status as a Banner Year Post.
- On 5 December, Ms Phyllis Bachman, National President, American Legion Auxiliary participated in a wreath laying at the Clark Cemetery. Commander Ken Schaefer, Junior Vice Commander Hubbard and Comrade Edward Rubio represented Post 2485. The 600th ABW of the Philippine Air Force provided a band, firing detail and honor guard for the ceremony.
- On 7 December, the Post remembered Pearl Harbor with a moment of silence.
- On 7 December, the Post hosted it’s annual Christmas Party for children at the Pearl Buck Foundation Home in Angeles City, approx 350 children attended.
- On 8 December, the Post joined with other Angeles City area Veterans organizations in a parade honoring the 200th Anniversary of Angeles City.
- Past National Commander Jack Carney visited the Post in December, after attending the Department of Pacific Areas Council of Administration(C of A) in Barrio Barretto. He was given a reception at the Post Home and a tour of the Clark Cemetery.
- Post cemetery personnel provided assistance to VFW Post 11447 in the burial of William E. Kay, SH1, USN (Ret) on 18 December. The grave side ceremony was conducted by VFW Post 11447.
- Post cemetery personnel provided assistance to VFW Post 11447 in the burial of William J. Holocher, HM1, USN (Ret) . Grave side ceremonies were conducted by VFW Post 11447 and Baguio Lodge No. 67, F.&A.M..
- In December, Commander Kenneth Schaefer established the Founders Club, a Post building Fund. The initial donation was $1000.00 from the Post General Fund.
- Thirteen veterans were buried during the 1996 calendar year.
- At the March General Membership meeting Comrade Cecil Johnson presented a Drug Awareness briefing.
- In March, Commander Kenneth Schaefer and Post Officers were invited to supervise the annual elections of officers for the Returned & Services League of Australia (RSL), Angeles City Branch.
- On 13 March, Commander Rene Certeza, American Legion Post 94 and his adjutant visited the Post to discuss the Clark Cemetery and the up-coming American Legion Convention wreath laying at the Clark Cemetery.
- On 21 March, the Post hosted a breakfast for Mr. Jack MacReynolds, Western Regional Director of the Veterans Administration. In attendance were Department Commander Zaher, Post Commander Schaefer, Junior Vice Commander Hubbard, Comrade Edward Rubio, representatives from the Manila VA Office and members of various Angeles City Veterans groups. Mr MacReynolds was given a tour and briefing on the Clark Cemetery.
- In April, District VII Commander Emory Russell presented Comrade Edward Rubio a District VII Plague for his continued service to the cemetery. Commander Robert Zaher, Department of Pacific Areas presented him with a laminated photo of the Clark Cemetery.
- In April, the Malabanias Elementary School presented the Post a Certificate of Appreciation which reads “In appreciation of valued and genuine support to school programs and activities”.
- On 18 April, the Post supported the American Legion in a wreath laying at the Clark Cemetery. Wreaths were laid by Orland Taylor, National Vice Commander, American Legion; Commander Antonio Ty, Philippine Department, American Legion and Commander Rene Certeza, American Legion Post 94. Members of American Legion Posts 1, 4, 10, 94, 123 and their ladies Auxiliaries were present. Commander Kenneth Schaefer, Junior Vice Commander R K. Hubbard and Comrade Edwardo Rubio represented Post 2485. The 600th ABW of the Philippine Air Force provided a band, firing detail and honor guard for the ceremony
- Post cemetery personnel assisted American Legion Post 10 in the burial of David R. Robertson, A/2C, USAF (Ret) on 25 April The grave side ceremony was conducted by American Legion Post 10.
- On 25 April, the Post supported the Returned & Services League (RSL) in their ANZAC Day Observance at the Clark Cemetery. The Post was represented by Senior Vice Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Past Department Commander Ralph Milward, Comrades William Feldt, Edwardo Rubio, Carl Lee,. Harold Britt, Mark Dimiline, Bo Bollenbach, Pete Peterson, Tom Ward and Rick Baird.
- Commander Robert Zaher, Department Pacific Areas, Commander Kenneth Schaefer, Junior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard, Past Commander Edward Lyons, Past District VII Commander Paul Morgenthal, Comrades Jerry Prinz, Rick Trembath, Russell Willis were delegates to the District VII Convention at Post 9892 in La Union.
- During the District VII Convention; Commander Emory Russell called a recess and all the delegates, including Post 2485, went to Coconut Grove Resort to attend the RSL ANZAC Day Observance. Commander Robert Zaher, Department of Pacific Areas; delivered a short address. Post Commander Kenneth Schaefer, Junior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard, Past Commander Edward Lyons, Past District VII Commander Paul Morgenthal, Comrades Rick Trembath, Russell Willis, Jerry Prinz and Cliff Wilsey were present.
- Commander Kenneth Schaefer was elected District VII Senior Vice Commander, Comrade Jerry Prinz was elected Judge Advocate, Junior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard was appointed District Adjutant.
- Commander Kenneth Schaefer and Department of Pacific Areas Commander Zaher participated in the last Golf Tournament at the old Camp John Hay Golf Course. The tournament was sponsored by VFW Post 124, Baguio.
- On 6 May, the Philippine Securities & Exchange Commission designated the Post as Philippine Non-Profit Corporation.
- On 10 May, Comrades Aristibes Reyes and Eugene Brown were signed up as the Post's 700th and 701th Life Members.
- The Annual Post Installation Banquet was held at the Post Home on 18 May. Department Commander Robert Zaher installed the Post Officers for the 1997-1998 year.
- Post Officers conducted a VFW grave side ceremony for Toribio M. Garcia, PVT, Philippine Scouts on 25 May.
- On 26 May, Commander Kenneth Schaefer, Junior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard and Comrade Jerry Prince attended the Fleet Reserve Association, Branch 367 installation ceremony for 97-98 officers.

Hubbard, Past Department Commander Ralph Milward and Chaplain Ron Burrus performed a VFW Memorial Service for Comrade Rudolph "Tiny" Littleton. - On 30 May the Post provided support to American Legion Post' 123 in the observation of Memorial Day at the Clark Cemetery.
- On 7 June, Department of Pacific Areas Commander Robert Zaher was initiated into Pinatubo-Pup Tent 15, MOC.
- On 7 June, Commander Kenneth Schaefer, Senior Vice Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Comrade Michael DeSare and Chaplain Ron Burrus performed a Memorial Service for Comrade Ernest Audet. Also in attendance were Department Commander Robert Zaher, Past Department Commander Ralph Milward, Past District VII Commander Paul Morgenthal, Past Post Commander Edward Lyons and Comrade Ron Giesler.
- The Post cemetery personnel provided assistance to American Legion Post 123 in the burial of Ernest Audet, SMSGT, USAF (Ret) on 7 June. The grave side ceremony was conducted by American Legion Post 123.
- On 13 June, Commander Kenneth Schaefer, Senior Vice Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Junior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard, Post Surgeon Cecil Johnson and Officer of the Day Steve Piechocky performed a Memorial Service for Comrade Hubert Ling. Also in attendance were various members of the Angeles City Veterans Community.
- Commander Kenneth Schaefer was appointed to the National VFW Veterans Resolutions Committee.
- Past Department of Pacific Areas Commander Ralph Milward was appointed to the National VFW General Resolutions Committee
- The Post received the National VFW Safety Award.
- Department of Pacific Areas Commander Robert Zaher was selected as a VFW All American Department Commander.
- June 16-26, the Post hosted 31st Department of Pacific Areas Convention and the 28th Grand Scratch, MOC.
- Past Department Commander Ralph Milward was presented the Department Adjutant of the Year Award.
- Comrade Cliff Wilsey was presented the Department Recruiter of the Year Award.
- Department Recruiting Awards were presented to Department Commander Robert Zaher, Past Department Commander Ralph Milward, Past District VII Commander Paul Morgenthal, Post Commander Kenneth Schaefer and Comrade Cliff Wilsey.
- Commander Kenneth Schaefer was appointed Chairman of the Steering Group created to establish a permanent department office in the Philippines.
- During the Department Convention, VFW Post 9467 and VFW Post 9450 hosted a Cocktail Party at the Post Canteen to commemorate their 50th Anniversary as VFW Posts.
- Eighteen operations were performed by the Children's Operation Fund.
- The Post continued to provide grounds maintenance and burial assistance at the Clark Cemetery.
- During the year Post Surgeon Cecil Johnson, utilizing the Post CPR manikin, presented CPR training to the following:

- On 28 June, Commander Lafayette Donaldson (outgoing Beagle #1), Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard, Past Department Commander Ralph Milward, Past Post Commander Kenneth Schaefer, Comrades Warren Jamieson and Bill Kiss attended the Beagles 21st Anniversary Celebration.
- Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard, Junior Vice Commander Robert McGovern, Comrades Jerry Prinz, Cliff Wilsey, Jack Turner, Paul Ellis and Tony Holmes attended 5th Annual Barrio Beach Bash at Barrio Barretto. This event is sponsored by VFW Post 11447.
- On 5 July, Past Post Commander Kenneth Schaefer represented the Post at the Grand Opening of the Clark Museum. Comrade Schaefer serves as a member of the committee established to create the museum.
- The Post cemetery personnel provided assistance to the Special Forces Association in the burial of Marvin R Becker, MSG, USA (Ret) on 7 July. Comrade Becker died in Colorado Springs, CO and was cremated there. His last wishes were to be buried in the Philippines and his remains were shipped to VFW Post 2485. Chapter 46, Special Forces Association performed the grave side ceremony.
- On 19 July, Commander Lafayette Donaldson and Comrade Edwardo Rubio, Clark Cemetery Maintenance Chief the accepted the yearly $3000.00 maintenance grant from the National American Legion. The presentation was made by Commander Bob Mills, American Legion Post 10.
- Post Officers provided a VFW grave side ceremony for Lawrence La Beau, GYSGT, USMC (Ret) on 7 August.
- On 9 August, Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard, Junior Vice Commander Robert McGovern, Comrades Jerry Prinz, Cliff Wilsey, were delegates to the District VII Convention in Barrio Barretto. The Convention was hosted by Post 11447.
- Past Department Commander Robert Zaher, Past Department Commander Ralph Milward, Past Post Commander Kenneth Schaefer and Comrade Clifford Wilsey were delegates to the National VFW Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah, 18-21 August, .
- Post Officers conducted a VFW gave side ceremony for Lewis F. Baker, SFC, USA (Ret) on 2 September. Comrade Baker was MOC Grand Pacific Commander when he passed away. He died in Korea was cremated and transported to the Philippines for burial in the Clark Cemetery.
- Post Officer conducted a VFW grave side ceremony for Fred A Mitchell AIC, USAF (Ret) on 17 September.
- On 26 September, the Post hosted an Appreciation Day for Past Post Commander Kenneth Schaefer. This included a Golf Tournament and a Cocktail Party at the Post Home.
- The Post and MOC Pinatubo - Pup Tent 15 purchased and installed a gate for the Malabanias Elementary School
- Post cemetery personnel provided assistance to DAV Angeles City in the burial of Katsuya Endo, SSGT, USA (Ret, on 2 October.
- Post Officers provided a VFW grave side ceremony for Joseph Lake, TSGT, USAF (Ret) on 4 October.
- Post cemetery personnel provided assistance to American Legion Post 123 in the burial of William F. Opack, MSGT, USAF (Ret) on 19 October.
- Post cemetery personnel provided assistance to VFW Post 11447 in the burial of Gary Bishop, GMGC, USN (Ret) and Joseph L. LeBlanc, AMSC, USN (Ret) on 15 October. The VFW grave side ceremony was conducted by VFW Post 11447.
- On 18 October, the Post participated in the 6st Annual Chili Cook-Off in La Union, approximately 40 Post members attended including Post Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard, Junior Commander Robert McGovern and Past Post Commander Kenneth Schaefer were in attendance. The Post also provided a contestant in the Miss Chili Pepper Contest, this young lady represented both the Post and La Bamba Bar in Angeles City. This event was sponsored by Post 9892.
- On 25 October, the Post held a citizenship briefing for 12 American dependents on Americanism, the U-S. Flag, drug-awareness and how to make a difference. Each participant received Americanism material and a U. S. Flag. The program was conducted by Past Department Commander Ralph Milward. After the meeting, a lunch of hot dogs and sodas were served to attendees.
- On 31 October, Past Department Commander Ralph Milward and Past Department Commander Robert Zaher represented the Post at the first anniversary celebration for VFW Post 124 at Baguio.
- On 1 November, due to the resignation of District VII Commander Robert Evans, Past Post Commander Kenneth Schaefer assumed duties as District VII Commander.
- On 10 November, the Post hosted the District VII Convention. Approximately 35 Comrades attended, including Past District VII Post Commander and Department Junior Vice Commander Emory Russell.
- On 11 November, the Post coordinated the Veterans Day Observance at the Clark Cemetery, which was followed by a picnic at the host Home. The ceremony at the cemetery was supported by various U. S. Veterans groups from Angeles City, Barrio Barretto, La Union, Baguio and the Returned & Services League (RSL). Approximately 350-400 persons were in attendance.
- The Clark Cemetery "Grave Diggers" program was initiated on 11 November. Proceeds from membership in this organization will be utilized for care and maintenance the Clark Cemetery. The "Grave Digger" program will be administered by Pinatubo - Pup Tent 15 for the Post.
- On 16 November, Post Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard, District VII Commander Kenneth Schaefer, Past Department Commander Ralph Milward and Comrade Dale Wyman represented the Post at the American Legion Post 94 Monthly Meeting and Commanders Day.
- On 4 December, Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard and Junior Vice Commander Bob McGovern attended the Angeles City Area Veterans Council at the RUMPA. Organizations represented included VFW Post 2485, American Legion Post 10, DAV, RUMPA, RSL, American Legion Post 123 and SFA. The Post Commander serves as President of the Council.
- A delegation from the Post attended the Department Mid Term CofA and Grand Scratch in Barrio Barretto, 5-7 December. The delegation was composed of Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard, District VII Commander Kenneth Schaefer, Department Inspector Roy Banning, Past Department Commander Ralph Milward, Past Department Commander Robert Zaher, Past District VII Commander Paul Morgenthal, Comrades Dale Wyman and Jerry Prinz. The CofA and Scratch were hosted by VFW Post 11447.
- At the Department-Mid Term CofA, Department Inspector Roy Banning was appointed a National Deputy Inspector. Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard and Comrade Bill Feldt were appointed National Aide de Camps.
- On 13 December, the Post hosted its annual Christmas Party for children at the Pearl Buck Foundation Home in Angeles City, approximately 250 children attended. Eighteen members, wives, supporters and children showed up to fill the bags and pass them out at the Pearl Buck Foundation-Home.
- The Post donated 31 bags (like used at the Pearl Buck Christmas Party) to Mt Arayat Shrine Oasis Christmas Party for crippled children.
- On 16 December, Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard, Comrades Bill Feldt and Bo Bollenbach attended the Returned and Services League (RSL) of Australia meeting. At this meeting, Ted Mathews was remembered. The 101 year old, Mathews was the last living member of the disastrous Gallipoli Campaign which involved ANZAC forces
- The Post membership received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Mt Arayat Shrine Oasis for supporting Shrine projects during the past year. Senior Vice Commander B K Hubbard accepted the award at the Mt Arayat Shrine Oasis Installation Banquet on 20 December.
- Post cemetery personnel assisted Post 11447 in the burial of Ronald W Kirk, SHCS, USN (Ret), DOD: 12/16/9 on 23 Dec. The VFW grave side ceremony was conducted by VFW Post 11447.

- On 25 January, the Post sponsored a Prostrate and Mamogram Awareness Mini-MEDCAP for all Veteran, wives, dependents and significant other. The examinations were conducted by the Angeles City Health Department. Approximately 40 persons took the examinations and attended the lectures.
- On 26 January Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Senior Vice Commander B:K. Hubbard, District VII Commander Kenneth Schaefer, Comrades John “Pete"Peterson and "Bo" Bollenbach attended Australia Day Observance at the Swagman Narra Resort in Angeles City. This event was sponsored by the Return &and Services League (RSL) of Angeles City.
- Commander Lafayette Donaldson and Post members attended the Martin Luther King Birthday Observance at the Beagles "Dog House".
- During the 1 February Post meeting, the USS Maine was remembered.
- On 7 February, Post Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard, Junior Vice Commander Robert McGovern, District VII Commander Kenneth Schaefer, Past Department Commander E. Ralph Milward, Past Department Commander Robert Zaher and Comrade Jerry Prinz accompanied Posts 124, 9892 and 11447 members on a tour of the Heinz Woelke Blind School in Baguio.
- The District VII Quarterly Convention was held at Baguio on 7 February. Delegates included Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard, Junior Vice Commander Robert McGovern, District VII Commander Kenneth Schaefer, Past Department Commander Ralph Milward, Past Department Commander Robert Zaher, Comrades Jerry Prinz, Jack Arvitt, Cliff Wilsey and Jack Turner.
- The Post and Pup Tent 15 joined with the RUMPA in providing transportation assistance to Doctors and Medical Staff that participated in OPERATION RAINBOW. OPERATION RAINBOW is a traveling medical staff that provides medical assistance for children in the under developed countries.
- Post Officers conducted a VFW gave side ceremony for Earl D Briley CDR, USN (Ret), DOD:1/17/98. The Philippine Navy provided an Honor Guard and Firing Detail for the service. During several tours with JUSTMAGPHIL, CDR Briley was an advisor to the Philippine Navy.
- On 7 March, Commander Lafayette Donaldson and Post members supported the Mt Arayat Shrine Oasis in their annual auction to support Shrine programs.
- Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Services Officer Jesse Foster and Adjutant William Kiss attended a Briefing with Question and Answer period given by American Embassy General Counsel Herbert and Ms Cynthia O'Connor of INS. The briefing was hosted by the RUMPA and members from various Angeles City Veterans organizations were present.
- Post Surgeon Cecil Johnson coordinated and assisted in advertising a cataract and eye examinations for local Barangay residents. This was sponsored by the Clarkview Serviceman's Church and local area Optometrist.
- On 11 March, on behalf of Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard presented a VFW Post 2485 Letter of Appreciation to VFW Post 11447 for their continued support to the Clark Cemetery.
- On 17 March, Commander Donaldson and Post Officers were invited to supervise the annual elections of officers for the Returned & Services League of Australia, Angeles City Branch.
- Commander Lafayette Donaldson and District VII Commander Kenneth Schaefer were invited to attend Recognition Day at the Malabanias Elementary School. The Post, Post Commander Donaldson, District VII Commander Schaefer and Comrade Cliff Wilsey were presented Letters of Appreciation for support to the school.
- On 28 March, Commander Lafayette Donaldson attended the Angles City DAV Anniversary Dinner.
- During a ceremony at the Clark Cemetery, on 31 March, the Filipino-American Memorial Endowment (Fame) presented the Post a check for P50,000. This donation is to be used for cemetery maintenance. FAME was represented by Ms Beth Day Romulo Trustee; Ms Leslie Ann Murray; Trustee, Mr Robert Sears, Treasurer and Mr Robert Blume. Post members present were Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard, Junior Vice Commander Robert McGovern, District VII Commander Kenneth Schaefer, Past Department Commander Robert Zaher and Cemetery Maintenance Supervisor, Comrade Edwardo Rubio. The Post provided a luncheon for all attendees after the ceremony.

- The Post celebrated its 11th Anniversary on 12 April. Due to the 12th being Easter, an Anniversary Party with heavy pu pus was held on 11 April.
- Mt Arayat Shrine Oasis presented the Post a certificate expressing their thanks for the support given to Shrine Programs.
- On 18 April, Surgeon Cecil Johnson assisted the Angeles City Special Forces Association (SFA) in a Mini MED Checkup for interested parties. This checkups were performed at the Team House.
- The Annual Post Installation Banquet was held at Angeles Fried Chicken on 19 April. Department Junior Vice Commander Emory Russell installed the Post Officers for the 1998-1999 year.

- June 15-19, Post members attended the 32nd Department of Pacific Areas Convention and 29th Grand Scratch. The Post delegation consisted of Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard, District VII Commander Kenneth Schaefer, Past Department Commander Robert Zaher, Past Department Commander Joseph Carsley, Comrades Cliff Wilsey, Cecil Johnson, and Jerry Prinz. The Convention was hosted by VFW Past 9892 at La Union.
- The Post received a Department of Pacific Areas Citation for assistance rendered in support of Community Projects.
- Comrade Paul Morgenthal received the Department Quartermaster of the Year Award.
- Comrade William Feldt received the Department Post Programs Chairman of the Year Award.
- Comrade Cecil Johnson received a plaque for outstanding service as Post Surgeon.
- Commander Lafayette Donaldson elected as a two year Trustee of the John Randall Scholarship Fund.

- During the year Post Surgeon Cecil Johnson, utilizing the Post CPR manikin, presented CPR training to the following:

   * Angeles City Physical Therapy People (8 hours with 17 .students)
   * Mt Arayat Physical Therapist (8 hours with 16 students)
   * San Fernando Physical Therapists (8 hours with 17 students)
   * Angeles City Physical Therapist (8 hours with 12 students)
- Fifteen operations were performed by the Children's Operations Fund

- On 27 June, the Post was invited to participate in the 3rd Annual Tree Planting, sponsored by the Clark Development Corporation at the Clark Economic Zone. Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard and Past District VII Commander Schaefer attended.
- The Beagles 22nd Annual Anniversary Dinner was held 27 June. Post member attending were Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard, Chaplain Ron Burrus, Past Department Commander Robert Zaher, Past District V1I Commanders Ken Schaefer, Comrades Bill Kiss, Warren Jamison and Joe Hestor.
- The Post conducted a VFW grave side ceremony for Robert Tierney, SGT, USA (Ret), DOD 5/5/9 on 2 July. .
- Post members supported the 6th Annual Barrio Beach Bash at Barrio Barretto. Post attendees included Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard, Junior Vice Commander Robert McGovern, District VII Senior Vice Commander and Past Department Commander Robert Zaher, Past District VIA Commander Kenneth Schaefer, Comrades Steve Piechocky, Jerry Prinz, Cliff Wilsey, Dan McShane and Jack Turner. The Beach Bash is sponsored by VFW Post 11447.
- The Post was awarded the National Americanism Award.
- The Post received a Recruiting Streamer for the 97-98 year.
- American Legion Post 123 presented the Post a Certificate of Appreciation for support provided for the Memorial Day Observance at the Clark Cemetery
- Comrade Jesse Foster received a plaque for outstanding service as the Post Services Officer.
- Comrade Edwardo Rubio, Cemetery Maintenance Supervisor received a Plaque of Appreciation for his continued support to the Clark Cemetery.
- On 18 July, Commander Lafayette Donaldson and Senior Vice Commander B. K. Hubbard attended the monthly meeting of American Legion Post 10 in order to accept the yearly $3000.00 grant from the National American Legion.
- The Post and Pup Tent 15 hosted a luncheon for Dr DeGuzman at the Post home on 18 July. Dr DeGuzman was presented a Post 2485 plaque commemorating his service to the Post and the community. Pup Tent 15 Seam Squirrel Ralph Milward presented Dr DeGuzman an MOC Grand Pacific Plaque designating him as the Grand Pacific Outstanding Outside Supporter of the Year. Also attending the luncheon were three of Dr DeGuzman's assistants Ms Melody Salunga, Ms Abigail Berm and Ms Cecil Tanhyeco. The VFW was represented by Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard, Past Department Commander Ralph Milward, Past District VII Commander Kenneth Schaefer, Comrades William Feldt, Joseph Godfrey, Jerry Prinz, Werner Koslovski and Cecil Johnson.

Hubbard and Past All American District Commander Kenneth Schaefer attended the monthly meeting of the Returned & Services League of Australia, Angeles City Branch. Past All American District VII Commander Schaefer presented a talk on VFW Post 2485 and the VFW in general.
- The Post conducted a VFW grave side ceremony for Wallace Brooks, MAJ, USAF (Ret), DOD: 7/15/98 on 24 July.
- On 26 July, the Post purchased a building and property for the new Post Home. This building at the corner of Santol and Pinatubo Roads is adjacent to the current building:

Hubbard, Junior Vice Commander Robert McGovern, Past Department Commander Ralph Milward, Past Department Commander Robert Zaher, Past District VII Commander Kenneth Schaefer, Comrades Jerry Prinz, Cliff Wilsey, Cecil Johnson and Jack Avritt were delegates to the District VII Convention in Barrio Barretto. The Convention was hosted by Post 11447.
- The Post conducted a VFW gave side ceremony for Comrade John R. Brown, SSG, USA (Ret), DOD: 8/11/98 on 15 August.
- The Returned and Services League (RSL} of Australia, Angeles City Branch observed Long Tan Day on 18 August. Long Tan was a battle of the Viet Nam War involving Australian Forces. Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard, Comrades Bo Bollenbach and Bill Feldt attended.
- Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Past Department Commander Robert Zaher, Past District VII Commander Kenneth Schaefer, Comrades Bill Nelson and Eugene Herrmann were Post delegates to the VFW National Convention in San Antonio, TX
- On 1 September, Senior Vice Commander B K Hubbard represented the Post at the Grand Opening of the Clark Airport City Terminal.
- At the National Convention, Commander Lafayette Donaldson accepted the VFW National Outstanding Community Services Post Award from VFW National Commander John E. Moon and VFW National Ladies Auxiliary Chairlady Connie Atkinson.
- Comrade Herman F Weising, AlC, USAF, DOD: 8/31/98 was buried at the Clark Cemetery on 5 September. The grave side ceremony was conducted by American Legion Post 123
- Comrade Philinen M. Martinez, SSGT, USAF (Ret), DOD: 6/26/98 was buried at the Clark Cemetery on 10 September. The grave side ceremony was conducted by VFW Post 2485.
- Post Officers performed a VFW Memorial Service for Cletus Doty, MSGT, USAF (Ret), DOD: 9/2/98 at American Legion Post 123. He was buried at the Clark Cemetery on 10 September. The grave side ceremony was conducted by American Legion Post 123
- Officers and Post members supported the Pinatubo-Pup Tent 15 fund raising social at the Bonanza Hotel on 19 September.
- On 1 October, the Post presented the Clark Museum with a framed picture with narrative of the USS PAMPANGA (PG 39). The PAMPANGA was a Spanish gunboat captured in Manila during he Spanish American War and put into service as a U.S. Gunboat. The presentation was made to Clark Development Corporation Executive Vice President Escolastica Segovia and Caferina Yepez, Curator of the Clark Museum, by Commander Lafayette Donaldson. Also present were Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard, Junior Vice Commander Robert McGovern and Past All American District VII and Past Post Commander Kenneth Schaefer. Comrade Schaefer is also a member of the Clark Museum Committee.
- At the 3 October monthly Post meeting Commander Lafayette Donaldson presented Alex Indiongco with plaque commending Indiongco Mortuary Services for support to burials at the Clark Cemetery.
- On 1 October, the Post participated in the 7th Annual Chili Cook-Off in La Union. Approximately 35 members attended including Post Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard, Past All American Commander Robert Zaher. The Post provided a contestant in the Miss Chili Pepper Contest, Miss Rhea Salentes, this young lady represented both the Post and Panama Jack's Bar in Angeles City. The Annual Chili Cook-Off was sponsored by Post 9892.
- The Post received the Second Place Plaque in the Chili Cook-Off. Comrade George Wheatstine was Chief Cook and head of the Post Chili Committee.
- On 29 October, Post Officers performed a VFW Memorial Service for Comrade Robert (Marine Bob) Swartz at the Team House.
- At the November Monthly Meeting the Post received a plaque entitled "Honoring the American Flag'” The plaque was presented by Senior Vice Commander B K Hubbard and Miss Juvy Angcao.
- On 5 November, at the invitation of Ambassador Thomas Hubbard U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines, Commander Lafayette Donaldson and Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard attended a screening of the movie "Saving Private Ryan".
- Commander Lafayette Donaldson and Senior Vice Commander and Clark Cemetery Chairman B.K. Hubbard met with Engineer Rodolfo L. Arias and DRA Rowena Pantig on 9 November to discuss burials and security at the Clark Cemetery.
- The Post hosted the District VII Quarterly Convention in November. Department Senior Vice Command, Russell was in attendance.
- Post members attended the re-burial of MSGT Robert Taylor, USMC (Ret). MSGT Taylor died in 1993 and was buried in Olongapo. This was during the period when the Clark Cemetery was closed due to the Mt Pinatubo eruption. Due to the efforts of friends in Post 11447 and Fleet Reserve Association Branch 367 he was exhumed and re-buried at the Clark Cemetery. MSG T Taylor, a POW during WWII was holder of a Bronze Star and the POW Medal.
- On 11 November, the Post coordinated the Veterans Day Observance at the Clark Cemetery. The ceremony at the cemetery was supported by various U. S. Veterans groups from Angeles City, Barrio Barretto, La Union Baguio and the Returned & Services League (RSL). The 600th PAF Air Base Wing firing detail and the Air Base Wing Band and a contingent of buglers from the Royal Australian Navy were present. Approximately 400-450 persons were in attendance. The Annual Veterans Day Picnic at the Post Home was held after the ceremony at the cemetery. Approximately two hundred Comrades and their families and friends enjoyed an afternoon of camaraderie, good food and cold drinks. Prior to their departure the Royal Australian Navy buglers played taps and last post at the Post Home. Very impressive.
- 11 November was the first anniversary of the Clark Cemetery Grave Diggers Membership on date stood at 285.
- On 12 November, Post Officers provided the VFW grave side ceremony for the burial of SFC Walter J. Ciswsinske, USA (Ret).
- On 12 November, Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard and Past District VII Commander Kenneth Schaefer assisted VFW Post 11447 in the VFW grave side burial ceremony for SF3 James F. Maret, USN (Ret).
- On 13 November, Post Officers provided the VFW grave side ceremony for the burial of MM3 Richard J. Russell, USN (Ret). Comrade Russell died in 1991 and was initially buried in a local cemetery but his wife and family wanted him buried with other Veterans.
- The 14 November issue of the Batavia, IL Daily Herald contained an article on the Post Cleft Palate Program. Each year children in the Elementary School raise money to perform at least one operation. They are kept up to date on the recipient of-their operation by Comrade Cliff Wilsey, Chairman of the Cleft Lip/Palate Committee.
- The Post had six participants in the Post VFW Voice of Democracy (VOD) Program, two from Faith Academy in Manila and four from International School in Manila. All entries were very good but the final winner was Nathan B Jones, a 10th grade student at Faith Academy. This was the initial year for Post participation in the VOD program. Young Mr Jones will represent the Post in the District VII VOD program.
- The Post VOD winner, Nathan B. Jones, was been selected as the District VII VOD representative. He will represent District VII in the Department VOD Program.
- Mr Dick Jones, Superintendent of the American Cemetery in Manila, toured the Clark Cemetery on28 November. Chairman of the Cemetery Committee and Post Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard conducted the tour.
- On 28 November, Post 2485 in conjunction with the Bonanza Hotel sponsored a social to raise money for the Post building fund. Post members friends and supporters enjoyed a afternoon of good food and having a few cool ones. All proceeds were donated to the building fund. Commander Donaldson presented Rob Williams, owner/manager of the Bonanza Hotel wit a Post Certificate of Appreciation for his continued support of the Post.
- On 4 December the VFW cemetery crew supported an American Legion Auxiliary Wreath laying at the Clark Cemetery by National American Legion Auxiliary President Virginia Hobbs. Philippine Department President Emma Sabalburo, members of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 10 and Auxiliary Unit 123 were present. The Philippine Air Force provided a firing detail and band. Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Senior Vice Commander Hubbard and Comrade Rubio represented the Post.
- Commander Donaldson and Senior Vice Commander Hubbard attended the American Legion Auxiliary Luncheon for National President Virginia Hobbs at the Shanghai Restaurant. Commander Donaldson took the opportunity to present Unit 10 a plague in appreciation for their support of shrub planting at the Clark Cemetery.
- On 5 December, the Post hosted its 8th Annual Christmas Party for children at the Pearl Buck Foundation Home in Angeles City, approximately 300 children attended. Nineteen members, guests and supporters and children showed up to fill the bags and pass them out at the Pearl Buck Foundation Home.
- The Post donated 20 bags (like used at the Pearl Buck Christmas Party) to Mt Arayat Shrine Oasis Christmas Party for crippled children.
- On 7 December, the Post received a letter from CDC stating that the Philippine Health Department was enforcing a regulation to which all burials at the Clark Cemetery must be encased in an underground crypt. The Past has neither the construction expertise or funding to implement this regulation. All burials at the Clark Cemetery were suspended.
- On 10 December, after a waiver granted by CDC, Post Officers provided the VFW grave side burial ceremony for Theodore A. Thibodeau, SGT, USMC.
- In December Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard, Past Department Commander Ralph Milward, Past Department Commander Bob Zaher, Past District VII Commander Ken Schaefer, Comrades Roy Banning, Jerry Prinz and Cecil Johnson were delegates to the Mid Term Department Council of Administration in Barrio Barretto. VFW National Senior Vice Commander John Smart, VFW National Junior Vice Commander John F. Gwizdak, Candidate for National VFW Junior Vice Commander Joe Salas and District 16 Council Member Tom Elliott were also in attendance. The Mid Term was hosted by Post 11447.
- On 14 December, the Post hosted a working breakfast, briefing and tour of the Clark Cemetery for VFW National Senior Vice Commander John Smart, VFW National Junior Vice Commander John F. Gwizdak, Candidate for National VFW Junior Vice Commander Joe Salas 16 National Council Member Tom Elliott. During the briefing and tour Commander Donaldson, Senior Vice Commander Hubbard (and Cemetery Chairman) and Department Commander Frank Sass solicited help for the cemetery. Also attending were Tom Tompkins and his wife, Post 9555; District II Commander Richard Keeled, Post 9467; District III Commander James Mayo, Post 8180; Robert Crittenden, Post 81801; Von Stevens, Post 9457; Donald Carnahan, Post 9612 and Roy Banning Post 2485.
- The Post hosted a reception at the Post Home for VFW National Senior Vice Commander John Smart, VFW National Junior Vice Commander John F. Gwizdak, Candidate for National VFW Junior Vice Commander Joe Salas on 14 December. Also attending were District 16 National Council Member Tom Elliott, Department Commander Frank Sass and M0C Grand Commander Emory Russell. The Post was represented by Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard and approximately 20 Post members and their guests.
- The Beagles hosted the Quarterly Angeles City Veterans Council meeting at the Dog House on 19 December. Commander Lafayette Donaldson presided over the meeting as President of the Veterans Council. Attending were VFW Post 2485, American Legion Posts 123 and 10, Beagles SFA and the RSL
- Each Christmas Day the Post Canteen employees are secured at 1100 to spend Christmas Day with their families and loved ones. The kitchen employees prepare and cook the Christmas Dinner prior to their departure. Post officers and volunteers then take over duties in the kitchen and dining area, thus keeping the canteen open on Christmas Day.
- On 26 December Post Officers provided a VFW Memorial Ceremony for Francis J Gallagher, TSGT, USAF (Ret) at American Legion Post 123.
- The Post, provided cemetery support in the burial of TSGT Francis J Gallagher, USAF (Ret). The grave side ceremony was provided by American Legion Post 123. A waiver was obtained to bury Comrade Gallagher at the Clark Cemetery.
- On 30 December, after obtaining a burial waiver from CDC, Post Officers provided the VFW grave side burial ceremony for SGT Lloyd S Moos, USMC (Ret).
- The Post provided cemetery support to VFW Post 11447 in the burial of SN Raymond J. Boots, USN. The grave side ceremony was provided by VFW Post 11447.
- Twenty Three U. S. Veterans were buried in the Clark Cemetery during the 1998 calendar year
- Seventeen operations were performed by the Children's Operation Fund during the 1999 calendar year.
- Clark Cemetery Grave Digger's membership stood at 317 at the end of the 1998 calendar year.
- The Post provided cemetery support to VFW Post 11447 in the burial of MS2 Joseph P Snyder, USN (Ret). The grave side ceremony was provided by VFW Post 11447.
- The Post satisfied the requirements of the Philippine Health Department and the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) Health Office in the matter of utilizing crypts for burials at the Clark Cemetery. After experimenting with cinderblock and concrete, it was decided to use fiberglass boxes with lids. These crypts were approved by CDC Engineers and the Health Department The crypts are made by a Post Comrade.
- Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard, Comrades Bill Feldt, Bo Bollenhach and Cliff Wilsey attended the Australia Day Observance on 25 January Australia Day was sponsored by the local Chapter of the Returned & Services League of Australia. The event was held at the Team House meeting room at Moon Doggies Bar in Angeles City.
- On 7 January Commander Lafayette Donaldson appointed a National Aide de Camp.
- On 7 January, Post Officers provided the VFW grave side burial ceremony for SGT Rugino G. Pangilinan, USAFFE. SGT Pangilinan was surrendered on Bataan, escaped from the Bataan Death March and fought as a guerilla during WWII.
- The Filipino-American Memorial Endowment (FAME) invited the VFW Post Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Senior Vice Commander and Chairman of the Clark Cemetery Committee B.K. Hubbard, Comrade Al Mitchell (the new Clark Cemetery Chairman as of 1 March) and Comrade Edwardo Rubio, Cemetery Maintenance Supervisor to a Memorial Service on Corregidor Island. The Memorial Service was to spread the ashes of Captain Norman Reyes, Army of the Philippines. Captain Reyes was a survivor of the Corregidor siege. He was known for his broadcast " the Voice of Freedom broadcasting from somewhere in the Philippines". He is the one that broadcast the fall of Bataan and the continued bombardment and siege of Corregidor. Captain Reyes was in fact broadcasting from Malinta Tunnel on Corregidor. His last wishes were his ashes be scattered over Corregidor. After the Memorial Service and tour of the Island. VFW members were invited to a working lunch of the FAME Board of Trustees. At this luncheon VFW Post 2485 was presented a check to be utilized for care and maintenance of the Clark Cemetery.ed for care and maintenance of the Clark Cemetery.
- On 4 February, Post Officers provided the VFW grave side burial ceremony for MAJ Gary Enders, USAF(Ret).
- At the February, Post meeting Commander Lafayette Donaldson presented VFW Post 2485 Commendation plaques to Rowena Rozee, Past Secretary in the Canteen Office and Ronnie Miranda, Post handyman and jack of all trades.
- The Post presented VFW Post 11447 with a flag flown over the Clark Cemetery on Veterans Day, 11 November 1998. The flag was in gratitude of VFW Post 11447's commitment to support the Clark Cemetery.
- On 13 February, the Youth Essay Committee awarded first place in the Post Contest to Tyrone Vega, son of Comrade and Mrs George Van Nostern. Young Mr Vega is the initial entry and first winner of the Post Essay Contest. As the only entry submitted by a District VII Posts he also becomes the District VII winner.
- The Post presented the Beagles with a flag, flown over the Clark Cemetery on Veterans Day 11November 1998. The flag was in gratitude of the Beagles's commitment to support of the Clark Cemetery.
- The Post presented the American Legion Post 10 with a flag flown over the Clark Cemetery on Veterans Day, 11 November 1998. The flag was in gratitude of American Legion Post 10's efforts to obtain the National American Legion yearly grant to support of the Clark Cemetery.
- On 20 February. the Post received the February copy of the VFW Magazine. In addition to articles of the Philippine War there was a half page article on the Clark Cemetery.
- The Post presented the RUMPA with a flag flown over the Clark Cemetery on Veterans Day, 11 November 1998. The flag was ingratitude of the RUMPA’s commitment to support the Clark Cemetery.
- The District VII Quarterly Convention was held at Baguio 25 February. The Convention was hosted by VFW Post124. Delegates included Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard, Junior Vice Commander Robert McGovern, Comrades Jerry Prinz and Cliff Wilsey.
- Past All American Department Commander Ralph Milward, Past All American Department Commander Robert Zaher and Past All American District VII Commander Kenneth Schaefer attended the Washington VFW Conference.
- Comrade and Mrs Jackie Rollins presented the Post with a frame containing Vietnam Commemorative Stamps.
- On 1 March, Past All American Department Commander Ralph Milward, Past All American Department Commander Robert Zaher and Past All American District VII Commander Kenneth Schaefer toured the Soldiers and Airman's Home in Washington, DC.
- The February issue of the Department of New Mexico VFW News featured an article on the Clark Cemetery. This is a result of efforts by Candidate for National Junior Vice Commander Joe Salas.
- At the March Post meeting Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard presented Clark Cemetery Maintenance Supervisor Ed Rubio a Plaque for his "continued support of the Clark Cemetery"
- On 16 March, Post Officers provided the VFW gave side burial ceremony for TSGT Carroll, USAF (Ret).
- The Post was invited to supervise the annual elections of officers for the Returned & Services League of Australia. Angeles City Branch. Past Post Commander Ken Schaefer and Comrade Jerry Prinz performed this function.
- On 25 March, the Special Forces Association (SFA) of Angeles City hosted the Quarterly Angeles City Veterans Council meeting at the Team House. Commander Lafayette Donaldson presided over the meeting as President of the Veterans Council. Attending were VFW Post 2485, MOC Pup Tent 15, SFA, RUMPA, the Beagles and the RSL.
- Commander Lafayette Donaldson and Post members attended the Anniversary Dinner of the Angeles Disabled Veterans Association (DAV).
- On 31 March, Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard, Past Post and Post All American District VII Commander Ken Schaefer and Cemetery Chairman Al Mitchell visited the Bataan Death March Memorial at Capus, Tarlac. The Memorial is in a sad state of repair. Repairs are going to need the advice of a structural engineer and require major structural work.
- On 8 April, Malabanias Elementary School presented the Post with a framed Letter of Appreciation "for support given to school activities."
- Membership Night was held at the Post on 16 April.
- The April District VII Convention was hosted by VFW Post 9892 in La Union Elections for the 1999 - 2000 year officers were held. - On 25 April, Comrade Larry Long attended the Scratch of MOC Pup Tent 9, Franklin, KY. Comrade Long lives in KY and attended the Scratch to personally thank Pup Tent 9 for their generous donation to the Clark Cemetery. He also delivered Letters of Appreciation from Post Commander Lafayette Donaldson, MOC Pinatubo- Pup Tent 15 Seam Squirrel Ralph Milward and past Cemetery Chairman B.K. Hubbard.
- During ceremonies at Faith Academy, Manila on 28 April Commander Lafayette Donaldson presented Nathan Jones a Certificate, a $100 cash award and a VOD pin for finishing First Place in the Post Voice of Democracy Contest. Young Mr Jones also the District VII winner, was presented a check for another $100 by District VII Voice of Democracy Chairman Kenneth Schaefer. The Third Place Award and VOD pin was given to John Mark Kane. Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard and Post Voice of Democracy Chairman Roy Banning also attended the presentation.
- Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard, Past All American District VII and All American Post Commander Kenneth Schaefer and Junior Vice Commander (elect) Jerry Prinz attended the installation of the 1999-2000 year officers for Fleet Reserve Association (FRA) Branch 367. The installation was held at the Branch Home at San Antonio, Zambales on 1 May.
- The Post was invited to Corregidor Island on 6 May to attend ceremonies dedicating a Memorial to General Jonathan Wainwright. General Wainwright was Commander of all American and Philippines forces after the departure of General MacArthur. Attendees included Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard, Junior Vice Commander Robert McGoven, Cemetery Chairman Al Mitchell and Comrade Jerry Prinz. Also present were Ambassador Thomas Hubbard, members of the VA Regional Office, various Philippine Veterans organizations and members of an organization called the Battling Bastards of Bataan (an organizations of Bataan Death March survivors and their supporters). Post members were invited as guests of the Filipino-American Memorial Endowment (FAME), an organization under the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines umbrella.

- On 10 May. Post officers performed the VFW grave side burial ceremony for TSGT August Koch., USAF (Ret). Comrades Koch died 21 December 1991, his wife requested reburial at the Clark Cemetery.
- Fifteen members of the Battling Bastards of Bataan and their families visited the Clark Cemetery on 11 May.

- On 22 May, the Post held a Ceremony/Dinner for the installation of Post 2485 1999-2000 year officers at Angeles Fried Chicken in Angeles City. Past All American District VII and All American Post Commander Kenneth Schaefer was the installing officer. MOC Grand Commander and Department Senior Vice Commander Emory Russell, District VII Commander Larry Senato. Past All American Department Commander Ralph Milward, Past All American District VII Commander Paul Morgenthal, District VII Senior Vice Commander (elect) O.B. - On 25 May, Senior Vice Commander B.K. Hubbard (Commander elect), Junior Vice Commander (elect) Jerry Prinz and District VII and Department Voice of Democracy (VOD) Chairman Kenneth Schaefer attended the Awards Day presentations at the International School, Manila. The Post Second Place VOD Award was presented to Madjimbaye Nade. He was presented a check for $50.00, a VOD Certificate and a VOD lapel pin. Young Mr Nade is also the recipient of an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy. In addition to Mr Nade, VOD Participation Certificates and pins were presented to Miss Monique Meneses, Miss Cynthia Bondoc and Mr Peter Hutchins.
- On 25 May, American Legion Post 123 performed the grave side burial ceremony for MSGT Leozie Perry, USAF (Ret) at the Clark Cemetery.

- The Post hosted the 31st Department of Pacific Areas Convention and 28th Grand Pacific Scratch, June 14-20. The Convention was held at the Maharajah Hotel in Angeles City. - Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Senior Vice Commander Hubbard and Comrade Jerry Prinz attended a Memorial Service at KM Marker 112, Capus National Shrine on 11 May. This marker is at the site of the former Japanese POW Camp at Camp O'Donnell, Capus, Tarlac. The Post was the invited guest of the Battling Bastards of Bataan. KM marker 112 is a memorial to SGT Richard E. Francis, USA. SGT Francis was a member of the 228th Signal Operations Company and died while a POW at Camp O'Donnell.
- On 16 June, Post officers provided the VFW grave side burial ceremony for PVT Bienvenido P. Geronimo, USA.. PVT Geronimo was a former Philippine Scout and WWII POW. - The Post received a Certificate of Appreciation from the National VFW 100th Anniversary Committee "for outstanding support to VFW programs."
- On 10 July, American Legion Post 10 performed the grave side ceremony for the cremated remains of SMSGT Herbert Link, USAF (Ret) at the Clark Cemetery. Comrade Ling died 11 June1997, but his wife delayed his interment.
- The Post held it first monthly meeting in the new Post Home on 11 July. At this meeting, Comrade Ron Barker and Miss Jesse Canares presented the Post with a framed/signed photo of the Navy Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Team.
- Membership Night, for Post members and invited guests was held 16 July.
- On 30 July, Commander B.K. Hubbard and Cemetery Chairman Al Mitchell delivered a new proposed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to the Office of the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) CEO Rufo Colayco. The Post has an MOA with CDC to maintain the Clark Cemetery, the MOA is due to expire 11 November 1999.
- At the 1 August Post meeting, MOC Pinatubo- Pup Tent 15 Seam Squirrel Werner Koslovski on behalf of the Pup Tent, presented the Post with a new Pledge of Allegiance Banner for the new Post Home.
- On 5 August, Commander B.K. Hubbard (Post Commander is president of the Council) convened Angeles City Ex-Pat Council at the Team House Meeting Room of Moon Doggies. Organizations represented included VFW Post 2485, MOC Pinatubo- Pup Tent 15, the Beagles, American Legion Post 123, American Legion Post 10, RUMPA, the Returned and Services League (RSL) of Angeles City Branch, Mt Arayat Shrine Oasis, Special Forces Association, RAO Angeles City.
- Post members supported the 2nd Annual MOC Pinatubo - Pup Tent 15 Social on 7 August, at the Bonanza Hotel, Angeles City. Eighty Four members and guests enjoyed an afternoon of enjoyable conversation, cool drinks and an all you can eat Bar-B-Oue. Seam Squirrel Werner Koslovski presented Rob Williams, owner/manager of the Bonanza Hotel a Pup Tent 15 Letter of Appreciation for his continued support of the Pup Tent and the Post. Comrade R.C. Cox, Post 11447, joined in the afternoon festivities.
- On 13 August, the Post held an Appreciation Night for Junior Past, All Pacific and All State Commander Lafayette Donaldson. Commander B.K. Hubbard presented him with an engraved VFW key chain, and Past All American Department/Post and current District VII Commander Robert Zaher presented him with a Past Commanders Pin and Department Senior Vice Commander Paul Gasperson presented him with an All Pacific hat and blazer. Approximately 75 members, wives, supporters and significant others were present.
- In August, Post delegates to the National VFW Convention in Kansas City were Past All American Department/Post and current District VII Commander Robert Zaher and Past All American District VII and Post Commander Kenneth Schaefer.
- On 20 August, Kuripots - Pup Tent 11 (Post 11447) conducted the Cootie grave side burial ceremony for SSGT Allen Whittington, USAF (Ret) at the Clark Cemetery. The Post and Pinatubo - Pup Tent 15 were represented by Commander B.K. Hubbard, Seam Squirrel Werner Koslovski, Past Grand Commander John Welsh, Cooties Roy Banning Jerry Prinz, Ken Miller, Mike DeSare and Cecil Johnson.
- On 21 August, the Post and Pup Tent 15 members hosted a luncheon for Dr Esmeraldo DeGuzman at the Post Home. The luncheon was held to honor the Doctors selection as Grand Pacific Non VFW Supporter of the Year. This was the second year in a row he has been chosen for this honor. Seam Squirrel Werner Koslovski presented Dr DeGuzman with the Grand Pacific Non VFW Supporter of the Year Plaque. Dr DeGuzman was accompanied to the luncheon by two of his nurses Marlyn Quizon and Abigail Benasa. Post and Pup Tent 15 members present included Commander B.K. Hubbard, Seam Squirrel Werner Koslovski, Past All American District III Commander Roy Banning, Past All American Department Commander Ralph Milward, Past Grand Commander John Welsh, Comrades Cecil Johnson, Buddy McGuire, Jerry Prinz and Jack Arvitt.
- On 25 August, Post officers performed the grave side VFW ceremony for cremated remains MSGT Doyle Kemp, USMC (Ret). Comrade Kemp was also a member of Pup Tent 15. Comrade Kemp died at Tripler Army Hospital, Hawaii, but his wife brought his cremated remains back to be buried at the Clark Cemetery.
- On 7 September, Post 11447 Officers performed the VFW grave side burial ceremony for MGYST William L. Tillotson, USMC (Ret) at the Clark Cemetery.
- On 15 September, Junior Vice Commander Jerry Prinz attended a diplomatic cocktail reception in Makati. The reception was hosted by the Minister Counselor of U.S. Embassy Manila at his residence. The reception was in honor of Mr Joseph Thompson, Under Secretary for Benefits, Veterans Affairs. Other representatives from Angeles City included the RAO, American Legion Post 123 and DAV.
- Post Officers performed the VFW gave side ceremony for SPC Earnest C. Tan-Chi III, USA at the Manila. Memorial Park Cemetery on 21 September. SPC Tan-Chi was killed in an automobile accident in Texas. The Post performed the grave side ceremony at the request of the family and JUSTMAGPHIL. Officers participating were Commander B K Hubbard Senior Vice Commander Robert McGovern, Junior Vice Commander Jerry Prinz, Officer of the Day Steve Piechocky and acting Chaplain Kenneth Schaefer.

- American Legion Post 10 performed grave side burial ceremony for LCOL Lyle J. Clevenger, USAF (Ret) at the Clark Cemetery, on 5 October.
- On 5 October, Post officers provided the VFW grave side burial ceremony for MMC Dan Pangan, USN at La Pieta Memorial Cemetery in Angeles City. Chief Pangan died while on active duty, his body was shipped back to the Philippines for burial. The Post performed the grave side ceremony at the request of the family. Officers participating were Commander B K Hubbard Senior Vice Commander Robert McGovern, Junior Vice Commander Jerry Prinz, Officer of the Day Steve Piechocky and acting Chaplain Kenneth Schaefer.
- On 7 October, Angeles City Ex-Pat Council convened at the Beagles Meeting Room of the Dog House. Organizations represented included VFW Post 2485, MOC Pinatubo- Pup Tent 15, the Beagles, American Legion Post 123, 40/8, American Legion Post 10, RUMP, the Returned and Services League RSL) of Angeles City Branch, Mt Arayat Shrine Oasis, Special Forces Association and RAO Angeles City.
- The Post was invited, by the Mayor of Angeles City, to participate in the Angeles City Bagius 99 Parade on 9 October. The Post joined with members of the Angeles City Ex-Pat Council to enter a float in the Parade. The float was decorated with the U.S., Philippine and unit flags from the participating organizations. Comrade Dan Steingrubber was team leader for the project.
- On 9 October, the Post held the 2nd Annual Fund Raising Social at the Bonanza Hotel in Angeles City. Approximately 135 members, supporters and friends of the Post enjoyed an afternoon of camaraderie and good food. Commander B.K. Hubbard presented Rob Williams owner/manager of the Bonanza Hotel, with a VFW Post 2485 plague for continuous support to the Post. Junior Vice Commander R.C. Cox, VFW Post 11447, joined in the festivities.
- On 14 October, Past All American Department/Post and current District VII Commander Robert Zaher, District Adjutant and Past All American Department Commander Ralph Milward attended the 3rd Anniversary of Post 124 in Baguio.
- American Legion Post 10 performed the grave side burial ceremony for MSGT Walter E. Adams at the Clark Cemetery on 14 October.
- Post officers performed the VFW grave side burial ceremony for SMSGT Mario V. Coli, USAF (Ret).
- Post members supported the 8th Annual Chili Cook-Off at the Bali Hai Resort in La Union on 16 October. The Cook Off is sponsored by Post 9892 and Pup Tent 7. Attendees included Commander B.K. Hubbard, Junior Vice Commander Jerry Prinz, Past All American Department Post Commander and current District VII Commander Robert Zaher, Lafayette Donaldson, Pat Grand Commander John Welsh, Past All American District VII and All American Post Commander Kenneth Schaefer, Comrades Ken Miller, Cliff Wilsey. Comrade George Wheatstine, Miss Lucy Balanquit and Comrade Bill Prokoff made up the Post Chili Team. The Post Miss Chili Pepper, Miss Mary Jane Gregario, representing both the Post and La Bamba Cantina, came in second in the Miss Chili Pepper Contest.
- On 17 October, the Post and Pup Tent donated 26 jars of peanut butter/mayo to Post 9892 and Pup Tent 7 to be utilized at the Heinz Woelke Blind School in Baguio.
- The Post received a letter from the Development Corporation (CDC) stating there would be no burials allowed at the Clark Cemetery after 11 November 1999. The letter was dated 21 October and delivered to the Post on 26 October.
- On 29 October, Post officers performed the VFW grave side burial ceremony for SSGT William S. Cost, USAF, (Ret).
- Commander B.K. Hubbard called a meeting of the Angeles City Ex-Pat Council on 2 November at the Team House meeting Room of Moon Doggies. He explained the denial of burials and the plans for rebuttal. Organizations attending included VFW Post 2485, MOC Pinatubo- Pup Tent 15, the Beagles, American Legion Post 123, American Legion Post 10, RUMPA, the Returned and Services League of Angeles City Branch, Mt Arayat Shrine Oasis, Special Forces Association and RAO Angeles City.
- At a small ceremony on 2 November, the Post presented an Plaque of Appreciation and a “Post 2485 Miss Chili Pepper” T-shirt to Miss Mary Jane Gregario for representing the Post in the 199 Miss Chili Pepper Contest. The La Bamba Cantina was also presented a Plaque of Appreciation for their continued support of Post programs. Those present included Commander B.K. Hubbard, Senior Vice Commander Robert McGovern, Junior Vice Commander Jerry Prinz, Junior Past Commander Lafayette Donaldson, Past All American District VII and All American Post Commander Kenneth Schaefer, Comrades John Welsh, Ken Miller and Jim Mahoney.
- On 3 November the Post delivered a rebuttal to the CDC letter denying burials at the Clark Cemetery.
- Commander B.K. Hubbard and Cemetery Chairman Al Mitchell met with CDC Executive Vice President Escolastica Segovia on 3 November. The proposed MOA and denial of burials at the cemetery were discussed. After the discussion, the burial denial was rescinded and Ms Segovia stated the MOA would more than likely be approved for another five years. The MOA must be brought the Board of Directors.
- In a 5 November 1999, Personal Memo from National Commander John Smart, containing the VFW National Membership Report, Post 2485 ranks 1st (102.35%) in Division 4 (600-1000) members).
- Post officers performed the VFW grave side burial ceremony for CPO Johnny P. Carter, USN (Ret) on 5 November.
- The Post hosted the November District VII Convention in Angeles City on 10 November. At the convention, Comrade Tom Morrison, Post 9892, presented MOC Pinatubo - Pup Tent 15 with a Letter of Appreciation from the students of the Heinz Woelke Blind School in Baguio. The letter was for support the Pup Tent has given the school. The letter was in braille, but also a readable translation. The letter will be framed and hung on the Cootie wall in the new Post Home. Comrade Dale Wyman represented the Post at Veterans Day activities at the American Cemetery and the Libingan ng Mga Bayani (Philippine Cemetery) in Manila.
- On 11 November, the Post coordinated the Veterans Day Observance at the Clark Cemetery. The ceremony at the cemetery was supported by various U.S. Veterans groups from Angeles City, Barrio Barretto, La Union, Baguio and the Returned & Services League (RSL), Angeles City Branch. The 600th PAF Air Base Wing firing detail and the Air Base Wing Band were present. Approximately 400 450 persons were in attendance. Guest speakers were Mr John P.
